February 25th 2015, they were reunited at the Tin Can Sailors meeting held at the American Legion on Church Road, Toms River after 71 years.

Robert was wounded by shrapnel in the shoulder during a Japanese suicide attack near the Philippine area.

The two men had a lot of catching up to do after 71 years.

For other "Tin Can" veterans, contact Dave Downy 732-735-1943 for information on attending future Tin Can Sailor meetings.
